Wish I woulda saw this sooner. Tried it on my own after spending a few days trying everything else under the sun and poof! Never ceases to amaze me when things like this are required after years of r&d and qc testing. The best thing by far is being able to use another display without running windowed mode. Finally I can actually use my SLI without losing my other monitor! Now if nvidia will just fix the problem with translucent lighting cutting out gpu usage and taking your framerate with it. I might have enough motivation to quit wow completely. Ff14 Boot Error 2018
This is not a driver issue. Of the dx errors hitting FFXIV, most involve mixing various overlays or graphics injectors. FFXIV is not compatible with mixing overlays, based on the fact the crash is 'Big Picture' which is a feature of steam, i have to conclude you are mixing overlays and this is what caused the crash. Resolution: open MSCONFIG go to the Boot tab Select Safe boot and select networking underneath. Close and reboot the computer. Launch the FFXIVboot and voilla it actually updated itself and i get the launcher screen! Go back into msconfig and uncheck the safemode, reboot again. Launcher now comes up fine and i'm downloading the game!
