Second step: Download and install FreelancerCD or No-CD versionFirst of all, i guess you don't have the CD version of Freelancer. You can buy it online or download the ISO version, it depends on what you prefer. Since i only tried with the ISO version, here is the download: firedrop.comIt's better to follow the instructions and download the ISO if you don't want any problems.

Remember to delete all the folders if you already installed Freelancer in the past.I'm not responsable of your use about the ISO.Extract the ISO fileCreate a new folder on the desktop named Freelancer and then extract the ISO on it. You will find a file named SETUP.EXE, run it and follow the instructions in order to download the real folder of Freelancer. Don't run or move anything else. Third step: Discovery modSince we want to play the multiplayer mode, i chose the firedrop.com. You will also be able to play the single player mode (even with mods if you want, i will make another guide about that).Download Discovery modDownload and install it, now you will find Discovery Freelancer and Freelancer (already created from the past installaton) on your desktop. Delete Freelancer, since it is only a shortcut and then run Discovery Freelancer.Install Discovery FreelancerIgnore the account messages since you will get a personal ID when you will run the game.

The launcher will update for a while and you will see an helmet icon on the taskbar, hidden by the the launcher for someone. It is the EULA, accept it and then press the Launch Game button to start the game.

I guess it all depends on what you are looking for in a mod. After a few playthroughs I got a mod that gave me a shadow vessel (bab 5) and an ultra blaster (basic wimpy gun with an absurd rate of fire) and just ripped through everything. But then, I enjoy that sort of thing immensely.I know there are a couple that flesh out the universe a bit more or change it entirely.I wish I could remember which mods I used specifically, but I had about 15 that I had loaded.

I think one of them increased speed of all ships by double. I finished the main quest about 2 months ago (I know - 5 years late) and played on for a few days, but leveling up alone wasn't very satisfying so I quit.Today I got the urge to fire it up again (maybe the X3 thread helped) and check out mods. It was pretty overwhelming - there are hundreds out there.Does anybody here still play the game? What are the most worthwhile mods? Thanks - it would save me a ton of time trying out each individual one.I LOVE THAT GAME, I actually have a battlestar galactica mod, star wars, and some crossfire mods(1.2 is the best), if ever i find a open sever look me up under reconviperone1. MISSION 14 at last!
